Spring 2 2025             Dinosaurs, Easter and traditional tales

Dinosaur roar!

Dinosaur ROAR! Dinosaur squeak. Dinosaur FIERCE! Dinosaur meek. Rhyme along, shout out the funny words and learn all about opposites.

Sponge printing.

We had to dip the sponge in to the paint and then press it down.

Stomp chomp big roars, here come the dinosaurs!

This is the way we stomp our feet, Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! This is the way we like to eat, Chomp! Chomp! Chomp! Stomp! Chomp! Big Roars, Here come the dinosaurs!

A brilliant action rhymes book all about dinosaurs.

Science day!

Exploring ice for science day. We used warm water and small hammers (under adult supervision) to chip away at the ice and melt it with the water.

We read our core book The Three Little Pigs  this is  a classic fairy tale that teaches children about perseverance, problem-solving, and the importance of hard work. This story encourages children to engage in storytelling, recognise patterns and repetition, and explore concepts of strength, safety, and teamwork.

We’re Going on an Egg Hunt is a fun, interactive picture book that follows a group of bunnies as they search for Easter eggs. Inspired by We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, the story uses a rhythmic, repetitive structure that encourages children to join in.

As the bunnies go on their adventure, they travel through different obstacles like tall grass, a splashing river, and a muddy field. Along the way, they discover colorful eggs—until they come across a big surprise… a hatching chick! The story ends with a playful twist as the bunnies run away from a group of noisy chicks.

This book is great for encouraging participation, exploring positional language (over, under, through), and developing sequencing skills.
