Year One History
Year One have been exploring the subject of "Toys in Living Memory". As part of this the children brought toys in from home to share with their friends. We looked at the materials the toys were made from, how they worked and also spoke about why we liked them.
The children noticed that lots of their toys were made out of plastic and many took batteries.
To conclude our history unit, the children created their own "toy museum" using some of the toys from the class and some of our toys from the past. The children made labels to show what the toys were made from, and also considered where in history they might have been made or played with.
