Class trips to Newbold Library
Y1 had their first trip to Newbold library. They were able to choose their own book and then check this out to bring them home. We also had lots of fun reading new books with our friends.
Year 4 visited the library. They chose a book and enjoyed reading it.

To promote a love of reading, NCS are inviting guest readers into our assemblies.
James from Derbyshire Cricket Foundation shared his daughter's favourite book, The Gruffalo.
Our next guest reader was the Mayor of Chesterfield! She read one of her favourites, Peter Rabbit. She also donated us the book for our library so we could continue to enjoy the story after she left.
Reading Challenge Treat.
As Year 4's treat for achieving 25 independent reads, they decorated cookies. Then ate them, obviously!
