Healthy Snacks
At The Nest we enjoy a range of snacks.
Examples include:
Snack
- Milk and water
- Fruits and vegetables e.g. apples, bananas, pears, oranges, melon, strawberries, pineapple, peaches, nectarines, plums kiwis, avocado, carrots, cucumber, celery, peas, potatoes etc.
- Toast and crumpets
- Bread sticks, pita or chapattis and hummus/cheese/cucumber
- Cheese and crackers
- Scotch pancakes
- croissants
The children take an active part in snack time to develop their personal and social skills. We encourage the children to chat to each other and use good manners. They are also supported to use a knife to spread and cut.
We ensure that the children learn about hygiene by washing their hands before snack.
Water bottles
Children should bring a named water bottle so that they can drink water whenever they need to.
*we ask for a £1 weekly donation towards the cost of snack
Both Miss Smith and Mrs Gautrey have a Level 2 certificate in food safety.
